Description

This 30" familiar modular cooktop comes with a gas-powered grill on one side and two gas burners on the other. It can be easily converted to a four-burner cooktop, with the non-requisite two-burner module. It also accepts a griddle, wok, and grill cover as accessories. The burners have pilotless ignition and are conveyable to LP gas. This unit comes with its own built-in, two-speed, downdraft ventilation system, so no range hood is needed. It vents steam, inflame, and grease downward into the unit and will require the installation of ductwork and the ability to vent fa. This cooktop is available with a black, white, or stainless-steel perimeter. The white mould has gray grates, while the black and stainless-steel models have black grates.

Astoundingly Poor Design and Reliability
Where to start? The deplete fan is pretty much worthless. For one, it doesn't do very good job of sucking smoke down. Moreover, when on high especially, it sucks a proper portion of the heat from the burners. To give you an idea of how much heat it pulls away from your pans, you can't bubble water with it on. To boot, when the grill side is on, the fan automatically turns on in hi mode. This makes anything but diret zealousness grilling impossible and forget about cooking on the other side.

Beyond the very poor design, the ignition system is faulty. The back burner no longer lights at all after about 18 months of use. The front is spasmodic and probably will go out in short order.

In summary, this is an overpriced and poorly designed product.

How to replace old Jenn-Air downdraft cooktop?

We are looking into buying a crib that is 22 yrs. old. It has an older Jenn-Air electric downdraft cooktop. I recollect NOTHING about downdraft cooktops. Can it be replaced w/any brand cooktop? How hard to replace? Do they calling well? What about the duct work?? It's all very confusing to me, any help/advice would be greatly respected!!

. Can it be replaced w/any mark cook top? Yes. How hard to replace? On a scale of one to ten, a three. Do they work well? Yes they do a good job.What about the tube work? Have you checked to see if it has duct work? If so,it can be used on the other brands.

Where can I find FREE consumer reports on a Jenn-air downdraft gas range?

I am looking at 2 well-defined models, they are both slide-in gas ranges with downdraft systems built in, but one has an charged convection oven and the other is gas. Both have gas cooktops. Model #'s are JDS9860BD & JGS9900BD
Any feedback would be greatly treasured!
