    would would the imprecise cost be to replace compressor in a whirlpool - fridge/freezer including employment call? Need an idea.

    Rhonda it will outlay about $300.00 to get it repaired. If you don't want to get a new one. You could always check places like Goodwill Industries if they have one you can need price under $100.00. I purchased recliner like new for $40.00. They have all kinds of things, at heinous prices.

    whirlpool freezer side shows frost in top, walls and back?

    hello,
    Have a side-by-side whirlpool frig purchased 4 years ago.
    I credence in its frost free.

    We see frost buildup in the top of the freezer, some on the side walls abutting door and the bottom back of the freezer where there appear to be some vents (?) openings.

    We have removed commons items, shut it off and cleaned out the frost, but upon turning it back on, the frost started forming again.

    what could be the make and how we can fix it??

    Is it a side by side or top over bottom refrigerator - freezer or a box freezer only or an upright freezer only? More info gets much better answers. Anyway it does conservative as though you are seeing the defrost heater. There are spring coil type heaters and cal-rod heaters. Your species sounds like a cal-rod heater. In either case, here is how it works in about 99% of freezers. The liquefy is time initiated and can be time or temperature terminated. There is a time clock that is not pliable. It is for a particular application. It has a specific number of defrosts which last for a specific epoch of time. Most service mechanics carry a kit which contains the most popular experience clocks. This prevents trips to the supply house. The electric antiquated clock advances to a trip point and goes into defrost. The liquefy period will last until the clock
    times out OR until the defrost thermostat strapped to the evaporator enwrap overrides the clock. Normally the defrost thermostat does the kicking out of melt, but if it fails the clock will time out and go back into the freezing mode. If the clock fails there will be no melt period and the evaporator coil will freeze over. This will result in a temperature go in the box. The cure, of course, is a new clock. The heater coil or rod can fail and the effect is a defrost period with no heat. This will result in a temperature rise in the box. Trust this helps out.
