This microwave has some absorbing feature such as the door and the oscillating tray.
However, it is totally overated on its venting capacity. In factors the specs on venting are an exageration.
Also the electronic touch control pad failed after about a year. For all time the touch control pad locked itself ( child lock activated spontaneously!!!) and is now completely unresponsive. Tried the steps in the instruction manual to deactivate the child lock --no chances. The microwave is now unusable!!

Well in actuality it stands for Lucky Goldstar and their products are still the same junk that they first started with. Well that's what the Warranty Repair Guy said. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING LG!!!! As per the population that have to fix them.

Wonderful Microwave
I lady-love this microwave. It cooks fast and more even than others I have owned. I really love the warming lamp. Keeps scoff warm till everyone is ready to eat. The only problem I can find is that it has no timer. I miss that. I would buy again.

cooks well and helpful but noisy
I was speculative at first with the idea of locating a microwave over a cooktop but wanted to give it a try and gain the additional counter space in the pantry. I am glad I went with an over the cooktop model as it is very convenient to use even while operating the cooktop at the same time.
Having the tiller along the bottom makes it easy to see which button I am pushing and to monitor the cooking time. The microwave has been great for heating casserole serving dishes as it can easily accommodate a large rectangular glass dish which is very rare. It also move the dish back and forth which makes for unusually even victuals, even better than a standard microwave with a carousel for rotating the food.
The under the unit light works well and the fan with its 3 speeds is also both competent and not terribly loud. What is noisy is the magnetron tube operation which vibrates a shield which is held on only with strip. I had a technician come out and that is when I saw how the poor design of the shielding caused it to vibrate and rattle thoroughly loudly at times. It is surprising that an otherwise excellent design should suffer from this one oversight on the part of the LG engineers.
The stainless carry out is also very good and easier to keep clean than my other stainless appliances. With the microwave in a high visibility location it is fine that it is so easy to keep looking like new even with heavy use.
Overall I would buy this unit again as the benefits of the controls at the bottom and the dual fighting food movement mechanism compensate for the noisy operation of the unit. There are no other microwave ovens from other manufacturers that have the mix of features present in this LG. The over the counter units from GE and others look like very little thought was put into their motif and they are hasty conversions of counter top models.

Pros:
Cooks well. Spectacular features for sensor cooking. Like the buttons on bottom. Rotating & articulating cooking try results in more even cuisine -i.e. less hot/cold spots.
Cons:
It is very noisy.

Venting is thunderous and useless
I obtain this oven to replace a Sharp countertop model I've had for years. The only reason I replaced it was because I remodeled my Nautical galley and I wanted to free up as much counter space as I could so I went to this LG over-the-range microwave and I'm sorry that I did. This LG can't hold a candle to my old Tangy. Using the re-circulating vent sounds like a frieght train and hardly removes any smoke at all. The front entrance is flimsy and there is no way that you can close the door without slamming it shut and making a loud bang. It does pastry-cook ok but so does a $50.00 oven that you could buy at Walmart. For the price of this oven, I should be satisfied but not so. I'm very dissapointed and foresee you don't make the same mistake that I did.
