Unsafe Product
I bought this microwave because it was cheap and I needed it
to reheat food, and pop popcorn. After a little over a year it started to turn on by itself. The salutary news is that it started doing this while I was in the kitchen. Don't know what would have happened
if no one would have been there. I'll leave that to the UL people
who endorsed this thing.
Avoid this thing - I'm throwing it away and spending more for a
non-Magic Chef product.
I haven't found any comments from Magic Chef on this - discouraging
when the thing should be recalled.

Worked ok for a year
This microwave was working marvellous for a whole year, but then it just turned off. And, I mean, nothing on it worked. The light inside went out, the pageant went blank. We had this problem with our first one, of the exact same model, so returned it to Home Depot, and they were incomparable about exchanging it. It's been about a year, and we're starting to have the problem again. Magic Chef doesn't really care. They want a sales receipt saying when we got it, but if it's over a year, they won't provide any assistance. Lovely. Buyer beware. After all the problems I've look over about with this microwave, they should offer more support than that.

Magic Chef MCO160UB microwave trash
I bought the Magic Chef MCO160UB over the cooking- stove microwave about a year ago. I've had intermittent problems with it going off while cooking for no reason. After it would set a few minutes it would power back up and drudgery ok. Today it just came on by itself and I could not stop it by using any of the buttons on the control panel. I stopped it by orifice the door. When I shut the door it would sit idle for about 30 seconds then start on its own again. I turned off the wave to allow it to reset. after setting the clock and waiting a few minutes, it started up on it's own again. If I could score it a -1 I would. It's unsafe and will be put in the slops.
After researching the problem on the internet I see that this is a common problem with Magic Chef microwaves. It's a piece of junk.

Not advantage the money
I purchased this microwave a pygmy over a year ago based mostly on the low price as my home was on the market and my original microwave had died. It is the noisiest microwave I've ever heard but I've been living with it. A few life span ago I put a cup of tea in to reheat it and pressed the One Minute button, and the whole panel went dark. The only troubleshooting labourers in the owner's manual was to check the fuse box, and the fuse was not tripped. Upon calling Magic Chef, the person told me I would have to call a put shop and gave me a name/number. The repair shop said it was likely a blown "oversight panel fuse" and would cost $150 to send a technician out to fix. After reading reviews on several other sites about Magic Chef microwaves, I will leverage another brand as they obviously do not stand behind their products, and the repair cost is not much less than buying a new microwave. The number of residents writing that their ovens turned on by themselves and/or caught fire was staggering and I am surprised there has been no class-action suit. Do NOT buy Magic Chef!

Jettison
Do not buy this. In less than a year old it started growing on by itself! We had to unplug it for fear of fire. Now the touch pad has gone completley out. Can't do anything with it. Garbage!

Stopped working after a year
Straight like with the previous reviewer, this microwave worked well until it didn't work at all. It started turning itself on and then the keypad stopped working. Since we had bought the whore-house with the microwave, we didn't have the info we needed to return it but on the instruction manual, the previous owner wrote that it was installed in 2008 and the oven stopped working at the end of 2009. The making date on the unit said December 2007 so it was less than 2 years old.

Died after one year of endurable operation...
This paragon performed as to be expected... it adequately heated items. After just over one year it fleetingly suffered a short and started starting by itself. Additionally, the control pad stopped working. We in the interim overcame the problem by leaving the unit unplugged until needed and it then only sometimes functioned. Perhaps the old adage is in order in you get what you pay for.

Extreme mircrowave at a phenomenal price!
My 10 year old over the go Hotpoint microwave suddenly died. I needed a replacement. I came across this Magic Chef unit and couldn't conjecture the price: A replacement for $150? I ordered the unit and didn't expect that much. What I got is a great working microwave with features I didn't have on my old item. It has more internal space and with he recessed turntable I can cook and defrost much large food items than before. The fan is unusually effective although it's quite noise on full, but so it was on the old unit as well. I have noticed that some of the details like hinges and such seems a youthful bit more flimsy than on the old unit. We'll see as the years go by and this unit is used several times a day to feed my four kids if it holds up. But the first several of months has been a great experience, and I can replace this one twice without it costing more than some of the units I saw at the appliance reservoir.

Superior Microwave
I've had this microwave for a three of years, now. It's powerful, reliable, attractive, and easy to clean. My favorite feature is that it's got an present door handle! I hate the push-button spring-latch doors on other microwaves - they survive out and break, and honestly? When it was time to replace my previous microwave, I specifically looked for one with a real entry handle. This is an excellent product at an excellent price.

Not so profit
Bought this at a neighbourhood store for a little less than the Amazon price.
It heats food well, but also gets the plates hot, which my former microwave didn't. If the food needs a lot of heating, the plate will get uncomfortably hot.
It defrosts very poorly. It takes over twice as crave to defrost a bagel compared to my previous Panasonic.

It has the broiler Nautical fake on the top. I have contacted Magic Chef and they do not have a manual for this model. No one there could tell me how to use it. It is in a 1990 Holiday Rambler Motor Familiar with.
