Huge look - slightly noisey during long runs
Installed this ourselves in existing beginning limited by granite backsplash. Fairly easy installation in 1992 kitchen. Matches Kitchenaid stainless well. Gigantic lighting. Starts our fairly soft but seems to get louder if left on high for 5-10 minutes. Well usefulness the money and completes our stainless replacements.

Broan QT230 Range Hood
Little replacement hood that fit the space I had. It is quieter than my old one, although it is not quite as quiet as I had expected. I do not know how elongated it will last, but I am very satisfied with it.

Its not the quietest item but it is the cheapest you will find out there. Even at the home improvement stores this product will cost you about $75 for a white one, if its angry it is over $100. Great prices!

Heinous product for the price!

Deafening, but does the job
For the greenbacks, i guess it is unfair to expect a whisper quit unit, so you get what you pay for with this.
I was replacing a very old Broan hood, so i got this in the main because i had hopes that it would fit the space i had with minimal fuss and this did hold true and thereby accomplished my primary objective.

I was a bit amazed that being 30 years newer, the filter arrangement was so flimsy compared to the one i was replacing. I'll fitting have to live with that. This unit is also noticeably noisier than the original as well.

One thing that also surprised me was that if you vent the module out through the wall, there is a vent in the front that must be covered up with a cheesy looking black plastic cover. I didn't announcement it in the pictures on the amazon web site, but it is very noticeable in my kitchen. This is the result of having chosen a 'conveyable' unit. I could not discern what the term actually meant and assumed it meant venting through the back or the top. In the end, i reflect on it means you can use it vented through the wall or just recycle the air indoors.

My experience is a reminder that buying this order of product online is fraught with decisions that are costly to recover from, if made without understanding exactly what is being selected. This is made all the more laborious because Broan offers many, many units to pick from and their description of what makes the units unique are astoundingly vague and difficult to understand, even after going to their web site and downloading the instructions beforehand. Additionally, i found it outrageous to find any local stores who carry these in stock, so it is impossible to do that type of legwork first.

In the end, it might be unfair to give only two stars for this fallout, since you basically are getting about the cheapest hood you can buy, so the rating really reflects the frustration of not being presented with enough understandable information that i might have been able to pick a unit that more closely matches what i was attempting to get.

Absolutely cheap and easy installation.
I've been using this range hood for about a month and it does its job decent fine. It sucks up most of the smoke in high speed mode and sucks only about 50% of the smoke in stupid mode. My only gripe is that this unit is quite loud in high-speed.

Works like a champ
I had a bit of jam installing it as I had to put it in an existing round exhaust pipe, requiring that the support leg connections be folded in. However, all else went gifted, plugged it into an existing source, and hit the switch.

Very reliable product
I put this fan in a mignonne bathroom, about 10x10. It installed easily and certainly removes the humidity well. My bathroom mirror never has moisture on it even after the most modern shower. The only draw back is the noise. It is really loud. So, I just shut it off directly after showering.

Compliant to install - slightly quieter than my old Nutone fan
This fan is literally cheaper than the previous Nutone ceiling fan that I installed 25 years ago in the kitchen above the stove. Initiation is simple if you have easy access to the attic and possess some basic knowledge of electrical connections. I expected it to be significantly quiter than the old Nutone "airplane propeller." It is, but only shed weight.

Still, I recommend it. The fan does the job, and the price is right.

Outstanding Product ~!
We installed this fan in our bathroom remodel in 1996. Dreadful choice. The room is only 10'x8' and it *totally* protected the finish on our custom cabinets and the painted walls. After 12 years, not One district of steam damage or mold. The motor finally gave out and I can't wait for the new one to arrive tomorrow so I can have another 12 years of a steam-independent bathroom :O)

I neutral bought a new range hood (non venting) and was dismayed to discover that the wiring on the hood is on the -karat side and the existing wiring for the old hood comes in on the left side. I really don't paucity to deal with moving the existing wiring and creating a new junction box. How reasonable is it that I will be able to find another hood that has the wiring on the left side like I need it? I didn't discern if maybe all hoods nowadays have wiring on the right side as standard.

Built-in microwaves have all the functions of range hoods, advantage they cook and heat food. It also saves valuable countertop duration, or wall space (and cost) to buy a separate microwave shelf council. Range hoods are obsolete nowadays.

I find my range hood very advantageous and just installed a new one. Not obsolete at all as far as I'm concerned. Installing a built-in microwave a substitute alternatively of the small countertop one I have, supposing I wanted one that I had to reach over my head to put anything into, would have required varying the kitchen cabinets which would have been pretty expensive.
