Fortissimo and prone to failure
We got this module from Wine Enthusiast. We were very disappointed because it was noisy and required repeated repair calls.

It is now out of agreement, and we are going to have to pay again to have it fixed. It failed also during the warranty period.

It costs WAY too much for this sort of deplorable performance.

But it does look nice, and does keep the wine at the right temperature.

Too bad about the siesta.

Bawling generator with optional wine storage...
While esthetically pleasing, this element really disappoints. The Danby Wine Cooler is the noisiest appliance in our house. This unit would be exceptional for a busy bar but is unacceptable for residential use. All three fans used in the unit are cheap plastic fans like you would count on to find on an old PC. If you've ever had a fan go out on your computer, double that noise and you'll have some idea what you're in for.

I'll echo what has been pointed out in other reviews on the web that the thermostat settings lapse too low and the shelves are a pain to pull out. Also, I don't know if this is standard but two shelves for red and four shelves for white isn't a very data d fabric ratio for our wine tastes.

We had our cabinets made with this unit in mind, I hope there are others that will fit the hole.

I'm downhearted to hear (from another review) that the noise isn't covered by warranty. The fan on the refrigeration unit will be relatively unaffected to replace but the internal circulation fans are not. If they are anything like the PC fans they appear to be, noise is as a rule followed quickly by failure. Just hope they go while the warranty is still good.

If you're looking to seizure that small diesel engine in the kitchen ambiance, this unit is for you.

Do you have experience with Danby or Avanti compact refrigerators? Other under counter refrigerators?

I'm having a BBQ islet built and want to include a refrigerator. I don't want to spend $$$$ on a refrigerator that is rated for alfresco use, so I'm looking for recommendations for a nice compact refrigerator with glass shelves (preferably under $400), notably from anyone who has used the refrigerator outdoors or in a BBQ island. Thanks.

This interview has gone a week without an answer. I have an Avanti under the counter refrigerator that is employed indoors. I have had no problems with it.

As long as the refrigerator is grounded, water does not puddle under it, and the motor/electrical connections are safe and sound from rain, you should be able to use it outdoors.

My depend on caught on fire and we lost our store ,insurance said it was our fault ,because of our refrigerator,anyone else had fires started by danby concentrated refrigeators.Help Please we were just leasing ,now it's a mess.They are blamimg us. Thanks

There are a party of companies in each city that investigate fires to determine the cause. They can call in chemical experts, electrical experts, etc, as rquired and discover whether the device was manufactured properly and whether it had the necessary safety approvals.

I could give the name of one such league, but thay are located in Toronto. If you contact a good lawyer, a King's counsel who specializes in the area of practice, he wil know if there are any local organizations. If you desideratum the name of the organization that I referred to, let me know separately or email me and I will dig it up.

Keep in mind that such experts are overpriced, however if they are likely to try to sue you, the price is likely worthwhile.
