Is it possible to buy an Extended Warranty for GE refrigerators when the original warranty expired a year ago

I utilized to have a warranty for my refrigerator, but it expired about year ago, would it be possible to get an extended undertaking now?
I was planning on buying a warranty online through general electric (the associates that made the refrigerator), but do you know if they actually come to your home to see if the refrigerator is really in “working condition” before the warranty becomes effective? b/c my ice and water point isn’t working and I need some repairs : [

I don't fantasize you can do this. It's kind of like trying to buy auto insurance after you have an accident. I take you could try it, but don't be surprised if they say no.

cannot even unclosed the freakin drawer. Has anyone else experienced this problem and what can I do about it. The freezer is set to the optimal temp.

Demand more info on the refrigerator. GE have a design or two of their own but they also sold some bottom freezers made by Amana and LG too under the GE name.

It is severely to guess if we don't know the design.

The frost has to come from somewhere. So most likely it is an air seep, or door not getting closed. If you have french doors they often don't get closed appropriately then frost collects in the freezer.

There were a couple that had air flow problems and the air was not superficial by the coils first, removing the moisture, before blowing the air in to the freezer. That caused ice.

But this problem is hard to cure or locate and depends on the exact connivance and control.

All you can do is check to see if the doors are closing or sealing.

I have seen a few bottom freezers where the entry gets a bit crooked and doesn't close completely on the top or bottom and gives this imbroglio. Some have a device on the rails that is to pull it closed and if that goes bad it holds it a little open.

It will likely take a good tech to spot where your trouble may be.
